About Me
BACKGROUND
Hello! My name is Cecilia Venegas and I am from East Chicago, Indiana where I graduated from East Chicago Central High School. I currently attend Indiana University Bloomington working towards a secondary-education degree in order to become a high school English teacher. I was originally inspired to become an educator in elementary school and my desire continued to grow throughout high school as I was surrounded by amazing teachers. I chose to do English since reading/writing is a form of deep communication that has allowed me to express my truest self. When I cannot verbally express myself, I always know writing will be there and I want to share that outlet with my future students.
PEDAGOGICAL BELIEFS
I believe that all students should receive equal opportunities and accommodations needed in order to succeed. I understand how crucial it is for me to understand that every student has different needs and I must create lessons that meet every single one. As an educator not only is it my job to teach students, it is also my responsibility to be a mentor and guide to every student that crosses my path. In my future classroom, I will create a safe place that welcomes all students and assist every student that is in need.
TECHNOLOGY BELIEFS
I believe that technology is a crucial aspect of education. In an ever-evolving technological world, it is important for students and educators to understand how to use various types of technology. For educators, technology can be used to create new, interesting, and engaging lessons that make students excited to learn. With access to all of the types of technology available, students can explore their creativity, gather worldwide information, and gain skills necessary in a modern technological world.
